DLC’s Stance On Crime

DLC leader Patrick Pillay “stated that in order to fight crime, the employment of more police officers, reliable police vehicles and effective visible policing must be prioritised. Metro police have a pivotal role in crime prevention and must work in collaboration with SAPS and the various stakeholders in order to curb crime. Communities need to mobilize and join policing forums(CPF’S). CPF’S must also be provided with the necessary tools and resources for effective sector policing. Communities should utilize effective social media technology such as Watsapp to keep abreast of developments and mobilise civil society in the fight against crime.”
